Jeff Booth is President & CEO at BuildDirect who applies his curiosity and deep knowledge of both technology and trends to how people explore, purchase and ultimately interact and connect in the home improvement industry.
Drawing from his experience as a builder, Jeff co-founded BuildDirect in 1999 from his first-hand experience with inefficiencies and high costs inherent with the home improvement and building supplies industry. While most told him the industry was too large and too broken to fix, Jeff only saw possibilities. He knew with the combination of his
entrepreneurial spirit, vision and technology, he could build a simple, trusted and efficient home improvement industry. Ultimately, opening a world of possibilities for consumers, sellers, designers, those in trades and shippers.
BuildDirect’s platform – a home marketplace – is built on technology and uses the company’s custom analytics and predictive modeling to capture a real-time signal on consumer needs and preferences to identify trends and growth opportunities in the industry.
Jeff is passionate about learning and is an active speaker sharing his experience as an entrepreneur and thought leader on the future of ecommerce, technology and how digital media is changing the world. He is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization and sits on the board for Spud.ca.
Igor Faletski is the CEO of Mobify, the leading mobile shopping platform powering global brands like Starbucks, Garmin, British Telecom and Siemens. Along with co-founders John Boxall and Peter McLachlan, Faletski has grown Mobify from a three-person startup in a Burnaby basement to a global mobile technology leader with over 100 employees and presence in the U.K., Brazil and Japan.
Igor is a recipient of the BC Business "Top 30 Under 30" award and an aspiring open water swimmer.
Brooke is the founder of Campfire Capital, a venture capital firm investing in early-stage businesses innovating at the intersection of technology and retail. Backed by 20 current and former lululemon executives, Brooke and her partners, John and Manica, established Campfire in 2014 to join tech VC’s in funding and supporting the small, agile, technology-driven retail start-ups disrupting the $5 trillion dollar consumer products industry.
To date, Campfire has invested alongside tech investors Google Ventures and Kleiner Perkins, as well as strategic investors like Coca-Cola and Campbells Soup. Prior to founding Campfire, Brooke served as lululemon athletica’s Director of Business Development, overseeing the valuation, restructuring and acquisition of the company’s international joint ventures and franchises as well as leading market entry operations for lululemon’s debut in Asia and Europe. Before joining lululemon, Brooke worked as an attorney in mergers & acquisitions.
Peter sets the product vision and leads the product management, product development and product operations teams that deliver on that vision.
Peter was most recently Chief Operating Officer of QuickMobile, which during his tenure placed #1 on Deloitte's Technology Fast 50. Prior to that, Peter was a global Vice President at Sophos, where, over eight years, he managed product lines, lead customer loyalty and e-commerce, and assessed and integrated acquisitions. Peter holds both CPA and P.Eng. designations with a Master of Business Administration from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Engineering Science from Western.
Rick Kohn is a Partner in the Private Company Services Group (now known as Deloitte Private) in the Vancouver office of Deloitte LLP and leader of the Deloitte BC consumer business practice. Rick brings extensive consumer business experience having served as CFO for a national retailer in Canada.
At Deloitte, Rick works with numerous small to medium size privately owned consumer businesses as a key business advisor on matters such matters as business strategy, financing, accounting, tax planning, governance, performance management, benchmarking, and customer relationships.
