Mike McDerment is the co-founder and CEO of FreshBooks, planet earth’s leading online invoicing app for service oriented professionals, freelancers and teams. Back in 2003, Mike built FreshBooks for his design firm and scratched his own itch. Since launching in May 2004 FreshBooks has touched over 900,000 lives and Mike and his team dedicate themselves to being a great service for people who love their work, and want to focus on it – instead of focusing on their paperwork.

 

VEF is pleased to feature a special announcement from Dr. Suzanne Fortier at this event!

 

Dr. Fortier is the President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). NSERC is the national instrument for making strategic investments in Canadian science and technology. NSERC helps Canadian companies compete in today's economy through cost-shared programs that support collaborative R&D projects. Over 1,500 Canadian companies, including top innovative firms in the country, benefit from these programs. Over the last year, NSERC invested more than $1 billion in basic research, university-industry projects, and the training of Canada’s next generation of scientists and engineers.

 

The Vancouver Enterprise Forum (VEF) is the premier networking forum for technology entrepreneurs. The VEF holds eight events each year - usually on the fourth Tuesday of the month. These events provide attendees with an opportunity to network and learn. The evening involves a feature presenter covers a topic especially relevant to technology entrepreneurs such as financing and CEO war stories. Networking sessions are included before and after the presentation for speakers and attendees to connect with each other. 

 

Pre-registration tickets are $45.00 each, door registration tickets are $50.00, memberships at $200 for a one year period (eight events).
